Yoga with ‘Purple Kath’
What is yoga and what does it involve?
Yoga is a practice that connects the body, breath, and mind. It uses physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to improve overall health.
It was originally developed as a spiritual practice thousands of years ago. Here at Oakwood Church, I practice yoga for exercise and to help reduce stress.

I have been practicing and studying yoga and meditation since 1999. Yoga is an invaluable part of my life and really contributes to my physical, emotional and mental health as well as keeping me Northern Soul dancing and performing my comedy burlesque characters throughout the land!
I thoroughly enjoy teaching yoga and I’m keen on encouraging others to practice with a sense of humour and fun, making friends with their minds and bodies no matter what age or condition we’re in!
I am a British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) Diploma trained teacher who has been running classes since 2007. The British Wheel of Yoga is the largest yoga membership organisation in the UK and the Sport England recognised governing body for Yoga.
