Join Jan McGuire, of Peaceful Body Peaceful Mind, for a monthly Sound Relaxation session. All you have to do is lie down and allow the instruments to work their magic.
The benefits of sound relaxation are well known now; the hypnotic sounds and vibrations from the instruments encourage the brain waves to slow down. This can take us into an altered state, similar to deep meditation, allowing the body to return to homeostasis and into a place where natural healing can take place. Many people report feeling more relaxed, improved sleep and a general feeling of relaxation and rejuvenation.
Please bring a yoga mat, pillow and blanket; whatever you need to lie down for an hour, and some water to drink. Some people even bring sleeping bags.
It is not recommended that you attend Sound Relaxation if any of these apply:
- If you are in the first 3 months of pregnancy
- If you have epilepsy, seizures or an ‘unmanaged’ mental health condition (such as bi-polar, schizophrenia, or any form of complex trauma)
- If you have a severe heart condition
You may be more sensitive to Sound Therapy If you have metal plates, have had recent surgery, broken bones or other major physical injuries, have a pacemaker, or if you suffer from tinnitus.
