Free WiFi throughout the building
Our rooms are not usually available to hire on Sundays but we may be able to make exceptions for Ceremonies such as Weddings and Baptisms.
Unfortunately at present we are not taking any bookings for parties that have not already been confirmed. This is due to a minority of hirers who have not treated our premises with the respect and consideration that we expect.

Hirers must be aware of our Safeguarding Policy and accept our Terms and Conditions of Use.
The Oakwood Church building and grounds are owned by The Methodist Church so NO Smoking, NO Vaping, NO E-Cigarettes and NO Alchohol anywhere within our building or grounds.
Sanctuary
Dimensions 12 m (40’) wide and 14 m (45’) long. High pent roof.
Maximum capacity
● 200 seated theatre style
200 seats. Carpeted floor. Organ and electronic piano. Podium with lectern. Public address (PA) system with radio microphones. Two ceiling-fixed digital projectors each with a wall-mounted retractable screen. WiFi and ethernet connections to our fibre broadband router mean Church Services, Celebrations, Meetings and Performances can be live-streamed over the internet. Hirers may require appropriate digital equipment to live-stream their meetings or performances. Please ask.
New Room
Dimensions 8 m (26’) wide and 11 m (36’) long. Regular ceiling height.
Maximum capacity
● 160 standing
● 100 seated theatre style
● 64 seated around tables e.g. for eating
Carpeted floor. There are 12 comfortable sofa-seats that may be arranged around a coffee table. Tables and stacking chairs also available. Public address (PA) system with radio microphone. Ceiling retractable projector screen. Hirers may require their own portable digital projector. Please ask.
Hall
Dimensions 7.5 m (25’) wide, 20 m (66’) long 4.3 m (14’) high.
Maximum capacity
● 300 standing e.g. disco
● 200 seated (theatre style)
● 120 seated at tables e.g. for eating
Hard floor. Microphone and Public Address (PA) system available. Tables and chairs are available. Access to the New Room, Sanctuary and WCs via the central lobby.
Suitable for children’s parties and games. Can accommodate a Bouncy Castle, etc. Prices on request e.g. for an affordable 2-hour children’s party on a Saturday morning or afternoon.
Hall Lobby
The main external access to the Hall is from the Car Park through a carpeted lobby furnished with seven comfortable sofa-seats and a coffee table. The space may be used as a reception area, waiting room or break-out room.
The Hall Lobby is automatically included if you hire the Hall.
At times when the Hall is not hired out, church groups may use the Hall Lobby as an impromptu meeting area.
Kitchen
Large modern well-equipped catering certified kitchen with two plumbed hot water boilers, gas hobs, two main gas ovens, microwave oven, kettles, refrigerator, food preparation counter, catering fast-batch dishwasher.
Two servery-counters with ceiling-retractable electric shutters and two doors opening to the Hall and to the New Room.
Is available to hire along with either the Hall the New Room or both. Alternatively with both the Sanctuary and New Room, or with all three ground floor rooms.
Ample crockery and cutlery, utensils, etc. Please ask.
Large Upstairs Room
Dimensions 4.5 m (15’) wide and 8 m (26’) long. High pent ceiling.

Accessed by a flight of stairs. Carpeted room. Tables and stacking chairs available.
